Posh – Practise Makes Perfect!

When George Boyd netted the equaliser with a coolly taken penalty in the 84th minute, I really thought we`d got a share of the spoils.

Sadly, it was not to be.

Three minutes later, and three minutes from the end, some sloppy defending cost us dearly.

Our U21 international keeper, Joe Lewis, flapped at a corner, pushing it onto his own bar and the rest, as they say, is history.

Prior to the season kicking off many pundits had suggested we`d have no trouble scoring but that our defence gave them cause for concern.

It`s an area that Darren Ferguson has paid attention to but in only signing young Krystian Pearce, there`s this feeling that we`re still a little open.

After the match, Darren spoke about the late goal and the manner in which we conceded being our downfall commenting,

‘We spoke about set pieces at length and we’ve got to get out of conceding goals like we did today.”

They say practise makes perfect, so I guess its back to the training ground on Monday then!
