Posh sign up Sinclair

Macclesfield striker Emile Sincalir has signed a 3 year contract with Posh after Posh agreed an undisclosed fee and he passed a medical on Wednesday morning.

Sinclair joined Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2006 following his release by Bradford City.

After making only a few cameo appearances, Sinclair joined Brentford on a one-month loan. Ironically, his first loan game for the Bees was an away game at Posh! Things didn’t go too well in that game as Posh ran out 7-0 winners!

On returning to Forest he spent time playing in the reserves and also featured on the bench for the 1st team including a game against Leyton Orient where he came off the bench to score Forests 4th and final goal.

During the following season, 2009-09, Sinclair had a successful spell on loan at Conference club Mansfield Town. Having scored on his debut, he went on to score 4 goals in 10 games for the midlands club before returning once again to Forest.

Sinclair went out on loan again during January 2009; this time with League Two outfit Macclesfield Town who he eventually signed for following his release at the end of the season.

During his first full year as a Macclesfield Town player, he scored 7 goals in 42 games and was rewarded with an extended contract.

He has caught the eye of many scouts this season after he scored twice against Hull City in the Carling Cup and was also on target against Bolton Wanderers in the second round of the competition.

Sinclair has played most of his career as a winger but has recently converted to the forward position where he has earnt rave reviews and it is as a forward that Posh manager Darren Ferguson will use him.

He is a quick and powerful front man who will wear the number 12 shirt.

Manager Darren Ferguson told www.theposh.com that he was delighted to secure his signature, particularly with other Championship clubs in for his services.

‘Emile is very quick, he is someone who can really penetrate the opposing defence and I think in the last two games we have missed someone with that style of play. We have known about him for a while and he is a talented lad.

‘Barry Richardson, our Goalkeeping Coach, has actually worked with him before so we know all about him. He can play wide and has actually played most of his career as a winger, but he has played down the middle and that is where we will look to play him,’ Ferguson said.
