To be hauled off after only thirty minutes is never a pleasurable experience, especially if you`re not injured.

However, in our midweek draw at Tranmere that is exactly what happened to Chris Whelpdale as Darren Ferguson opted to enforce a tactical change.

Whelpdale, as ever, acted with the professionalism we`ve all come to expect form a loyal servant to the club and this was recognised by Darren in his post match comments when he remarked,

‘It’s not nice for a player to come off after 30 minutes, but Chris understood the reasons and took it well.”

“It’s what is good for the club that matters.”

We`re sure Chris will remain an integral part of our promotion push!
