The man in charge of the Sky Bet League One match between Bristol City and Peterborough United is CHRISTOPHER SARGINSON.
Christopher Sarginson is in his seventh season as a Football League referee and has refereed Posh on eight previous occasions. It should`ve been nine but he was stuck in traffic after the M6 was closed around Coventry so he didn`t make the Gillingham match back in April last year.
The last time he refereed Posh came in October last year when Posh hosted Oldham Athletic. The match finished 2-2 with three yellow cards being shown. Jack Payne was the only Posh recipient.
He`s already refereed a Posh v Robins match which came in 2012 at London Road. The Robins went away with all three points after winning 2-1 while Lee Tomlin scored Posh`s only goal of the game in the 90th minute from the penalty spot. Seven yellow cards were shown in the match with four of them going to Posh players. That match was the last time Sarginson has refereed the Robins.
So far this season, Staffordshire-based Sarginson has taken charge of 21 matches; issuing 62 yellow cards and two red cards.
The last match he refereed came last Tuesday when he took charge Sheffield United`s comfortable 4-1 win over Colchester United. No cards at all were shown in the match.
The assistant referees for the Bristol City v Posh clash are Adam Bromley and Adam Hopkins. The fourth official is Andrew Bennett.
