The man in charge of the npower Championship match between Derby County and Peterborough United is MARK HEYWOOD.

After the shambles of a referee Posh had on Tuesday night against Brighton and Hove Albion, another rookie takes charge of a Posh match?but it will be his third match this season that he has refereed Posh! The previous two matches came on Boxing Day when Posh put in an excellent performance to come away from Wolves with a 3-0 victory while the last time came earlier this month when Posh fought out a 2-2 draw with Huddersfield Town.

The Wolves match had just one yellow card issued which went to the home sides Jermaine Pennant which was totally different to the Terriers match when 6 yellow cards were issued! Posh only received one of those cards with defender Nat Knight-Percival [pictured below] going in the referees notebook.

Derby have yet to have the privilege of Heywood refereeing them.

Heywood, from West Yorkshire, is in his second season as a Football League referee and has so far refereed just 25 matches this season issuing 78 yellow cards and four red cards.

Last season he refereed a total of 27 matches with just one of them being a Championship match. So far this season, he has refereed seven Championship matches.

His last match came on Tuesday when he officiated the match between Middlesbrough and Nottingham Forest. Boro came out on top thanks to Mustapha Carayol who scored the only goal of the game three minutes before half time. Boro received three yellow cards while Forest substitute Dexter Blackstock was the only visitor to receive a yellow card.

The assistant referees for the Huddersfield v Posh match are Paul Graham and Mark Howes. The fourth official is Geoff Law.
