The man in charge of the Sky Bet League One match between Oxford United and Peterborough United on Saturday is ROBERT LEWIS.

Referee Rob Lewis sends off Ricardo Santos for a second bookable offence v Chesterfield

Experienced official Rob Lewis will be the man in the middle for the clash between the Yellows and Posh?potentially!!

We say potentially because the last two Posh matches Lewis should`ve refereed, he dropped out at the last minute and had to be replaced! The last time that happened was back in November when Posh travelled up to face Rochdale. Martin Coy stepped into Lewis` boots to oversee the two-nil defeat.

Michael Salisbury was the referee to step in the time before that with that match also ending in defeat for Posh by the same score! That was at Oldham Athletic in January last year.

The Shrewsbury-based official splits his duties each week between officiating and running the line in the Premier League. He has spent the last 13 years doing this resulting in him only refereeing a small number of games each season.

Posh have had Lewis referee five of their games down the years, winning three of them while losing just once. That defeat was the last time Lewis officiated a Posh match which came in December 2015 at Blackpool. Mark Cullen (3) and Brad Potts (31) scored the only goals of the game with five yellow cards being issued with Posh picking up three of them.

Oxford have had Lewis officiate 8 of their matches and have suffered just two defeats, both of which came this season! The last Yellows match Lewis officiated was in January when they lost two-one at home to Bury while they will want to completely forget the match before that as they were stuffed seven-nil by Wigan Athletic!

Three yellow cards were dished out in the Shakers match with Oxford picking up one of them while they collected both the yellow cards shown in the Latics defeat.

So far this season Lewis has officiated 24 matches issuing 66 yellow cards and 3 red cards.

His last match came just over a week ago in the midweek match between Walsall and Rochdale. The home side picked up the only yellow card of the game as they lost the match three-nil. Posh midfielder Brad Inman played 73 minutes of that match for Dale helping them to a two-goal advantage by that time.

The assistant referees for the Oxford United v Posh clash are Andrew Aylott and Grant Taylor. The fourth official is Adrian Waters.
