The man in charge of the Sky Bet League One match between Peterborough United and Blackburn Rovers at the ABAX Stadium is NICK KINSELEY.

Essex-based referee Nick Kinseley takes charge of Posh`s match on Saturday against former Premier League champions Blackburn Rovers.

Kinseley spent seven seasons in non-league before making the step up to the Football League in 2015/16. Since then, he has officiated two Posh matches with Posh winning on both occasions while it will be the first time he officiates Rovers.

The first time Kinseley refereed Posh was in his debut season when Posh hosted Barnsley in League One. Posh took the lead through Lee Angol but were pegged back via a Conor Hourihane penalty seven minutes before half-time. Miles Addison and Marcus Maddison opened up a two-goal lead for Posh before the Tykes pulled a goal back with 13 minutes remaining. Any hope of snatching a draw faded when the visitors had defender Kevin Long sent off. Besides that red card, four yellow cards were shown during the match with all of them going to Posh players!

The last time Kinseley officiated Posh was at the start of this season when Posh faced their first away match. A tough looking fixture at the Memorial Stadium turned out to be nothing of the sort as they ran out four-one winners over Bristol Rovers. Jack Marriott scored a hat-trick with the other goal being scored by former Newcastle United captain Steven Taylor. Three yellow cards were issued in the game with two of them handed to Taylor and Anthony Grant.

So far this season, Kinseley has officiated 15 matches issuing 58 yellow cards and three red cards.

The last match he officiated came last weekend in the FA Cup clash between League Two sides Stevenage and Swindon Town. The home side ran out comfortable five-two winners while picking up two of the three yellow cards dished out during the game.

The last League One match he refereed came in October when Fleetwood Town traveled to leaders Shrewsbury Town. The Shrews won the game with an 89th minute Aristote Nsiala winner. Two yellow cards were shown during the match with both of them going to the Cod Army players.

His statistics for the last few seasons in the Football League are:

2017/18 – 15 matches – 5 home wins – 6 away wins – 4 draws
2016/17 – 31 matches – 14 home wins – 8 away wins – 9 draws
2015/16 – 28 matches – 8 home wins – 12 away wins – 8 draws

Card Tally For Last Few Seasons:

2017/18 – Games 15 – Yellow 58 – Red 3
2016/17 – Games 31 – Yellow 113 – Red 6
2015/16 – Games 28 – Yellow 70 – Red 9

His matches involving Posh and the Rovers to date are:

Posh – 2 matches – 2 wins – 0 draws – 0 defeats
Rovers – 0 matches – 0 wins – 0 draws – 0 defeats

The assistant referees for this match will be John Farries and Paul Yates. The fourth official is Ian Dudley.
