The man in charge of the Sky Bet League One match between Peterborough United and Doncaster Rovers is JOHN BROOKS.

Referee John Brooks takes charge of the first clash at the ABAX Stadium in 2018 as Posh entertain Darren Ferguson`s Doncaster Rovers.

Brooks has refereed just two Posh matches but this is just his second season as a Football League referee! Rovers have also had Brooks referee them twice; once last season and once this season.

The two Posh matches Brooks officiated came on New Years Eve 2016 when Posh hosted Coventry City with the second coming last November at Charlton Athletic.

The Sky Blues match ended one-all but Posh had to rely on a 90th minute equaliser from Michael Bostwick. Three yellow cards were shown during the match with Posh picking up two of them.

Posh let a two-goal lead slip at the Addicks as the home team scored twice in added time! Posh had dominated the match and scored a goal in each half from Gwion Edwards and Jack Marriott. A dubious penalty started an unlikely fight back which ended with Charlton equalising deep into added time! Posh collected both yellow cards shown during the match.

The first time Brooks officiated Doncaster was last January when they visited Barnet. They came away with a three-one victory and two of the seven yellow cards shown in the match.

The last time he took charge of a Rovers match was in September when Shrewsbury Town visited the Keepmoat Stadium. The Shrews snatched a 90th minute winner after trading goals within a minute of each other just after the half an hour mark. Former Posh player Tommy Rowe scored the only Rovers goal. Three yellow cards were issued during the game with Rovers picking up one of them.

So far this season, Brooks has taken charge of 28 matches issuing 85 yellow cards and four red cards!

The last match Brooks officiated came on Saturday in Blackpool as the Tangerines took on Plymouth Argyle. The struggling Devon outfit took a two-goal lead in the first half but a second half fight back from the home side saw them equalize in the 90th minute.
