The man in charge of the Sky Bet League One match between Peterborough United and MK Dons is KEITH STROUD.

Keith Stroud

The Bournemouth-born official takes charge of his first match of the season on Saturday. Keith Stroud is a former Premiership referee when he was originally promoted to the Select Group of officials in July 2007 following a career which had seen him progress from the Wessex League in 1988 to the Football League National List in 2004.

Stroud lasted just two seasons amongst the elite of English refs before he was dropped back down to the National List and replaced with Kevin Friend.

Posh had the pleasure of Stroud last season in the area final second leg of the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy. The match at Swindon finished 1-1 with the overall aggregate for the match 3-3. Posh went on to win the tie and a trip to Wembley thanks to a 4-3 penalty shoot-out win. Four yellow cards were shown in the match which were shared between the two sides. Michael Bostwick and Danny Swanson were the Posh pair to receive the cards.

MK Dons last had Stroud referee one of their matches back in the 2012/13 season when the Dons won 3-0 at home to Doncaster Rovers. Two yellow cards were shown in that match with both of them going to the visitors.

The last match Stroud took charge of was the League One Play-Off match between Rotherham and Preston. The Millers won that match 3-1 which saw them get to Wembley where they beat Leyton Orient in the final. The play-off semi-final also saw five yellow cards with three of them going to Preston players.

The last League One match Stroud refereed was at the end of March when he took charge of the Bradford v Walsall match. Walsall won the match 2-0 with one yellow card being shown to the home side.

Last season, Stroud refereed 38 matches showing 168 yellow cards and 7 red cards.

The assistant referees for this match will be Nicholas Cooper and Neil Davies. The fourth official is Stephen Wade.
