Football League sponsors Sky Bet have installed Shrewsbury Town as favourites to beat Peterborough United in the penultimate match of the season.

Shrewsbury Away

Shrewsbury Town -Vs- Peterborough United
Venue: Greenhous Meadow
Date: Saturday, 30th April, 2016
Kick-off: 15:00pm

A win for the Shrews today will guarantee them League One football next season which means they will be fighting tooth and nail for the points they need to make them safe.

With that requirement and the fact that Posh have nothing but pride to play for you can understand wht Sky Bet have installed the Shrews as favourites. What they haven`t taken into consideration is the McCann factor!

Grant McCann has been put in temporary charge of Posh after the sacking of Graham Westley and he has brought a smile back to the players faces and he is also unbeaten as temporary manager after overseeing a 5-1 win over Oldham Athletic and a one-all draw with Walsall earlier in the season when Dave Robertson was sacked as manager!

Since the start of 2016, the Shrews have faced 10 League games at home and have lost half of those while winning just two games!

The last three home matches for the Shrews has seen them come up against teams in the top six or trying to get in to the top six! They were trounced 5-1 by the team that should be crowned League One Champions if they win today, Wigan Athletic. They also lost 2-1 to Sheffield United last time out while a one-all draw against Bradford City was sandwiched in between those two games.

Posh have also faced 10 matches since the turn of the year away from home and have also lost half of those games but the difference is that they`ve won four of the games.

The last away match saw Posh go down to a narrow one-nil defeat in unfortunate circumstances after a gaff by man-of-the-match goalkeeper Ben Alnwick in added time!

Posh and the Shrews drew one-all at the ABAX Stadium earlier in the season with former Posh striker Tyrone Barnett cancelling out a Conor Washington goal.

Sky Bet have Shrewsbury Town as favourites with odds of 13/10 with Posh at 19/10. The draw is priced at 13/5.
