Smith Set For Jam Tarts Move

Posh right back Michael Smith is reportedly on the verge of moving to SPL side Heart of Midlothian.

The Jam Tarts have moved for Smith after they sold one of their prize assets, Scotland International Callum Paterson, to Cardiff City earlier this summer. Smith had made 133 appearances for the Posh before being transfer listed at the end of last season.

Smith is believed to be in Edinburgh to finalise his move, as he looks to resurrect his International career with Northern Ireland. He had been linked with League Two side Coventry City, but it now looks as though he’ll be making the move north of the border.

Unlike the move that took Jerome Binnom-Williams to Chesterfield, Posh will be expecting a fee for Smith as they look to raise funds for their own exploits in this summers transfer window.

The Posh squad travel to Spain for their pre-season training camp on Wednesday, and it looks as though they’ll be going there without a recognised right back – unless a new signing is sealed within the next couple of days.
