Vital Posh looks at the latest news coming out of Peterborough United over the past week and also what their rival teams in League One are up to.
POSH SNATCH LATE DRAW
Posh got themselves out of trouble at lowly Crewe Alexandra on Saturday after finding themselves 2-0 down after just 21 minutes and two shots from Crewe!
A first-half injury time goal from transfer listed Tyrone Barnett reduced the deficit and despite having the majority of the possession, Posh only managed to equalise with virtually the last kick of the game thanks to Michael Bostwick.
In truth it was a disappointing result as Posh could`ve moved to the top of the table with Leyton Orient and Wolves both having the weekend off.

JOHNSTONE`s PAINT TROPHY DRAW
The draw for the second round of the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy was made on Soccer AM at the weekend. Posh are in the southern section of the draw and you can find out all the details of who Posh face and all the other ties HERE.
The matches take place during the week commencing 7th October with Posh`s match taking place on the Tuesday [8th October].
In what is seen as a very generous offer by Chairman Darragh MacAnthony, he has set the ticket prices for the match to just £5!!
BHOYS STILL INTERESTED IN TOMLIN
Celtic are expected to resurrect their interest in Lee Tomlin when the January transfer window opens.
Having had three bids knocked back by Posh last month, Celtic know they will have to increase their bid to get their man. Their last failed bid was believed to £2.1 million and they are expecting to come back with a £2.5m bid! Posh are believed to have told Celtic that they need to increase their bid to at least £4.5m if they want to get the attacking midfielder.
A lot could depend on how well Celtic do in the Champions League and how much money they get from the competition.

MAN OF THE MATCH AWARDS
The Vital Posh Man of the Match award for the match against Crawley Town was announced on Saturday.
Posh suffered their first defeat of the season going down 2-0 to Crawley and the performance by the players was certainly reflected in the poll.
It was the effort shown by transfer listed Tyrone Barnett that gave him enough votes to be named man of the match for the second time in three matches.

AUGUST PLAYER OF THE MONTH
The first Vital Posh Player of the Month of the season was announced and it`s not surprising who the winner was.
Having won six out of seven competitive matches during August, you would`ve thought there`d be a number of players all chasing the accolade but there were only really two players in it.
Strikers Tyrone Barnett and Britt Assombalonga were the two front runners for the award but who won the award?
The top three players for August`s Vital Posh Player of the Month, as voted by you, were:
3rd Place: Danny Kearns
2nd Place: Tyrone Barnett
1st Place: BRITT ASSOMBALONGA
POSH TRANSFER UPDATE
The loan window has now opened and Posh are looking to bring players in on loan as well as send some of the younger players out on loan to gain much needed match experience.
Having failed to bring in targets Stevie May [striker] and Stefan Scougall [midfielder], Posh will now look at options to bring in suitable players on loan. Posh have used the loan market in the past to bring in younger players on loan from Premiership sides to boost the squad but also other players have been brought in with a view to signing them permanently.
Which route Posh go down this time is anyone`s guess but it is certain that Posh will delve into the loan market as certain areas of the squad needs boosting.
Meanwhile, youngsters Jaanai Gordon, Shaq McDonald and Jevani Brown are all expected to depart on loan so they can get much needed first team experience. There is one youngster who won`t be going out on loan as he has impressed Darren Ferguson so much that he feels he will play a part in the current Posh team. That player is midfielder Jermaine Anderson.
Young defender Peter Grant has already departed London Road on loan. He has joined local non-league outfit Histon FC on a youth loan while Posh have a call-back option should Posh need his services.
Four Posh players remain on the transfer list: Gaby Zakuani, Tommy Rowe, Tyrone Barnett, and Nicky Ajose. Ajose has gone out on loan to Swindon Town though.
The following players have so far departed London Road on permanent deals:
George Boyd has signed for Premiership newboys Hull City
Jonson Clarke-Harris signed for League One rivals Oldham Athletic for an nominal fee
Dwight Gayle has made a multi-million pound move to Premiership Crystal Palace
Emile Sinclair joined League One rivals Crawley Town for a fee of £100,000 |
LEAGUE ONE ROUND-UP
After only six League matches of the season, the first managerial casualty has occurred!! Carlisle United have departed from manager Greg Abbott after United picked up just two points from their first 18 points available. They`ve also only scored two League goals while conceding 15!
One manager who was celebrating this week is Russell Slade from Leyton Orient. Not only does his side sit top of League One, he has been named the August Manager of the Month. Nahki Wells of Bradford City picked up the corresponding Player of the Month award.
Posh had the chance to get to the summit of League One at the weekend after Leyton Orient and Wolves both had their games called off due to international matches but they failed miserably when they could only draw against lowly Crewe Alexandra!
Callum Wilson hit top spot of the scoring charts when hitting another two goals for in-form Coventry City who have now got off the bottom of the League. If they hadn`t been hit with a 10 point deduction, the Sky Blues would be sitting in 6th place!
Besides the top two, there are just three other teams who remain unbeaten. Rotherham now sit one place behind Posh in 4th having won three and drawn three of their matches this season while MK Dons sit just outside the play-offs in 7th with 10 points and Preston North End are 11th having won one and drawn the other four matches.
