Posh Chairman, Darragh MacAnthony, has confirmed a loan extension has been agreed with Tottenham, keeping Luke McGee at The Posh until the end of the season.

McGee has hit the ground running since moving on loan to the ABAX Stadium, and speculation over his short term future has been rising over the past few weeks. Manager Grant McCann has made no secret over his desire to keep the young keeper at the club until at least the end of the season, and MacAnthony has delivered him the perfect early Christmas present.

McGee himself has always refused to rule out a potential extension, and has spoken in depth about how much he has enjoyed his time in Peterborough so far, so it is a deal that suits all parties.

His first task at the Posh was to claim the number one spot from Mark Tyler – a task he managed to complete in the first couple of weeks of his loan. Since then he has flourished, making key saves in important games, and saving penalties in consecutive away games at Shrewsbury and Southend.

Grant McCann has stated that he only wants two or three new faces in the door in January, including McGee. With one signing confirmed, McCann now turns his attention to a new striker, likely to be St Albans forward Junior Morias, and a centre back to replace the injured Jack Baldwin.

As we head towards January, any potential transfer news can be found right here on Vital Posh, as and when it happens.
