The results are in for the Vital Posh Player of the Season and the Positional Awards for 2016/2017. Who was the Peterborough United Forward of the season?

We`ve seen Luke McGee pick up the goalkeeper of the season, Ryan Tafazolli, defender of the season and Gwion Edwards midfielder of the season but arguably, the toughest poll to decide was the forward of the season!

There was a choice of nine players of which five of them received votes. Transfer-listed pair Lee Angol and Shaq Coulthirst received 8.33% of the votes each.

There was also a tie for second place with both players receiving 25% of the votes. Paul Taylor, who has since left the club, and Junior Morias, who only joined Posh in January came second in the poll.

Taylor was one of the leading appearance makers of the season playing in 46 matches but he disappointed with goal return after finding the back of the net just six times! Posh decided against offering Taylor a new contract which saw him leave the club a few weeks before the end of the season.

Signed from non-league side St Albans in January, Morias went on to appear 20 times for Posh, mainly from the substitutes bench, scoring four goals.

The player voted as forward of the year appeared in all bar six Posh matches this season scoring 13 goals to finish the leading goalscorer for Posh. He is, of course, TOM NICHOLS:
