The Vital Posh Man of the Match Poll for the Capital One Cup defeat at Portsmouth is now up and running.

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing v Portsmouth

Well if Darragh MacAnthony wants to go on Cup runs, it certainly won`t be in the Capital One Cup as Posh meekly surrendered the match to their hosts without causing any real threat going forward.

Kyle Vassell papered over the cracks on Saturday as he scored the goal that gave Posh victory in the opening day clash at Rochdale but against Pompey, Posh lacked creativity and any real goal scoring threat.

Kenny McEvoy seems to be out of his depth at the moment and whether he will adapt as the season goes on is anyone`s guess.

Apart from one excellent pass from Jermaine Anderson which set up Kyle Vassell, who was off-side anyway, the midfield duo aren`t producing anything going forward.

Conor Washington ran around a lot as he always does but his partnership with Vassell doesn`t look like it`ll produce the goals needed to mount a successful promotion and with Posh having just three attempts on target all night, it was not surprising that Posh went out at the first hurdle.

What did you think to the overall performances of the players and manager Darren Ferguson?

Rate the players below and the player with the best rating will win the Man of the Match.

The poll is open until noon on Sunday [17th August].
