Who has won the Vital Posh Man of the Match for the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy First Round defeat against Leyton Orient? Find out the results.
For the second cup match of the season, Posh disappointed again! It was the tie of the round with two of the top League One teams facing each other and Sky Sports showing the match live but a patched up Posh came up short of starting the defence of the trophy and went out at the first stage.
The O`s scored early on in the match and could`ve doubled their advantage shortly afterwards but it was Posh, and home debutant Marcus Maddison, who scored the next goal to level things up.
It was the O`s that created the majority of chances and they deservedly took the lead again through another poor defensive display just two minutes into the second half. They tied the match up just past the hour mark with their third goal.
Even the sending off of Romain Vincelot didn`t help Posh get back in to the match. Posh did keep trying and their effort paid off in the third minute of added time when another debutant, Luke James, tapped in Posh`s second goal but it was too little too late.
