After the result of the season against Cardiff City, Posh followed it up with another deserved victory. This time against last seasons Premiership outfit Bolton Wanderers.

In a devastating start to the match, Posh found themselves 2-0 up within six minutes thanks to goals by Lee Tomlin and Dwight Gayle.

Bolton created very little in the first half and were fortunate to go into the break just a goal behind after Gaby Zakuani decided to play rugby from a Bolton corner and bring down an opposition player for a penalty in the third minute of added time!

The next goal was going to be crucial and it didn`t take long of the second period to come. It was Posh that struck early when on loan George Thorne weaved his way through the many attempted tackles by the Wanderers before unleashing a shot into the bottom corner of the net.

There were a few nervy moments in the muddy Posh goalmouth but keeper Bobby Olejnik did well to keep the ball out. That was until the awful Mr Miller gave the visitors a second penalty of the match!

At 3-2, it was all to play for but it was Posh that again extended their lead through goals by Mark Little and Gaby Zakuani for what should`ve been a comfortable 5-2 lead with just seven minutes remaining.

A last ditch substitution by Bolton changed things completely which saw an earlier substitute Benik Afobe score followed by the latest sub Martin Petrov to blast a shot past Olejnik.

Posh did manage to see out the remaining three minutes of normal time and then four nervy added minutes to record a thoroughly deserved win.
