The Vital Posh Man of the Match Poll for the Sky Bet League One match against Notts County is now up and running.

Marcus Maddison v Alan Smith of Notts County

You can`t win them all!

Notts County set out their stall to stop Posh from playing and to frustrate them and they achieved their goal.

The Magpies flooded the midfield and in former Manchester United man Alan Smith and the ever-aging Gary Jones, they had two defensive midfielders that stopped Posh in their tracks.

Both sides did create chances and for Posh, it came again from the widemen which isn`t surprising as Posh are missing out the men in the middle of the team more and more often.

Hopefully Marcus Maddison will receive the wrath from Darren Ferguson for the very embarrassing dive in the penalty area which he rightly received a yellow card and for the continued greed. Countless times he should`ve passed the ball but he either chose to take more men on and lose the ball or take a shot which never went on target! Even in the final minute of added time, Posh had a three-on-two attack and instead of playing in Jon Taylor, who would`ve been clear through on goal, he went for the glory shot which went high and wide.

Regardless of the skill Maddison has got, if he continues to be greedy to the detriment of the team, he is going to become very disliked by Posh fans!

Jon Taylor had another good game despite being fouled continuously in the match which constantly went unpunished by the poor officials. Sadly, many of the chances he made failed to find a Posh man.

Baldwin and Burgess had more of a battle compared to last week but they coped well and again showed the potential they have to become a very good central defensive partnership.

Jermaine Anderson had an indifferent day again and was often on the end of fouls by the experienced Alan Smith. Sadly, Smiths experience meant he was able to orchestrate some of his fouls that he was awarded freekicks instead of Posh!

The match was crying out for a change by Posh and in particular for someone like Grant McCann to come on and potentially change the game. Unfortunately it was not to be as Fergie decided to bring on the brilliant Joe Newell!! What a game changing decision that was! Newell again failed to impress the home crowd and often looked like he was running in glue. When Fergie did decide to change a central midfield player, he brought on Kane Ferdinand!! As good as Fergie has been this season, he got his changes wrong in this match.

Up front, Kyle Vassell ran around and linked up play well but he couldn`t get on the end of many chances. The one clear cut chance he did get, he dwelled too long and he eventually gave away a freekick.

Fellow frontman Conor Washington had a poor game and picked up an injury late in the game to allow recent signing Luke James to have another chance to impress; which he sadly failed to achieve! James looks really lightweight up front and when he got a chance in front of goal, he blazed his shot high over the bar?just like he did with his one chance last week!!

Overall, it was a bad day at the office but at least we got a point out of it. The draw saw Posh drop down to second place; a point behind Bristol City.

What did you think to the performances of the Posh players?
