Vital Posh looks at the form of both Barnsley and Peterborough United ahead of the npower Championship clash at Oakwell.

Barnsley are on a poor run of form having lost their last 4 games without scoring a goal!

Posh have improved remarkably since their 3-0 reverse at the hands of Millwall and have now won two out of their last three matches.

Barnsley

Currently sitting in 18th place in the npower Championship, Barnsley have 43 points from 38 games and dropped below Posh following this weeks mid-week matches.

The Tykes have lost their last four matches while failing to find the back of the net and have only won three games since the turn of the year. They have lost 10 of their last 14 League matches.

They have scored 30 goals at home while conceding 32. Only Leeds United have conceded more goals at home.

Barnsley`s last home match ended in a 4-0 defeat to promotion chasing Reading. They have won eight times at home this season while drawing three and losing eight matches.

Top League scorer for Barnsley is Craig Davies with 11 goals. Andy Gray has eight goals while Jacob Butterfield has scored five times. Ricardo Vaz Te had scored 10 goals before his departure in January.

Peterborough United

Posh are still waiting for their first away win of 2012 having picked up just two points out of 18 points on their travels during this year.

Having endured a poor start to the year, Posh`s fortunes and performances had made a dramatic about turn as they have defeated promotion hopefuls Blackpool and Reading recently while losing narrowly in their last away match to Ipswich.

Tuesdays excellent 3-1 win over Reading lifted them one place to 17th; moving above Barnsley! Posh are now 13 points from the relegation positions.

So far this season away from home, Posh have won three, drawn six and lost ten. They have netted 22 times while conceding 31 goals.

Paul Taylor is the top League scorer for Posh this season with 10 goals. Emile Sinclair and Grant McCann both have 8 goals each while Lee Tomlin and George Boyd [pictured below] are close behind on seven goals. Tyrone Barnett now has 17 League goals which includes four goals in six games since he arrived at Posh.

Posh have now gone 112 games since they last finished a League game goalless! That was away at Ipswich on 8th December 2009.
