Doncaster v Posh Preview

With the fixture against Doncaster Rovers now set to take centre stage, Posh will be hoping that the last gasp equaliser against Bristol City will be the catalyst that sees them climb the table.

Once again, Darren Ferguson felt that Posh deserved more than a point but hasn`t that been the case more often than not this season?

After shuffling his pack on Saturday, with Rowe and Rose coming in, it`ll be interesting to see who makes the starting eleven this time around.

Will Darren remain faithful to those who served him well at Ashton Gate or will he make changes in the side?

Tom Williams was rated doubtful at the weekend but overcome an injury sustained in training, whilst Russell Martin, our club captain, was sat on the substitutes bench. Lee Frecklington, who has flitted in and out of the side, was once again on the bench whilst Craig Mackail-Smith was replaced in the latter stages of the second half, did Craig have a slight knock or was it tactical?

However, one man, George Boyd, looks certain to start and in doing so will break the consecutive number of appearances record he currently shares with Eric Steele.

There`s no doubt that George had been our leading light in recent weeks and the forward, now looked on as a bargain buy from Stevenage, had this to say about his current standing,

“I`m proud of the goal and the record.”

“I like to think I can extend the run a fair bit more.”

Despite all the questions we`ve posed, here at Vital Posh we have a feeling that Darren will go for the following starting eleven as he seeks that elusive first win in five games:-

Lewis, Martin, Morgan, Zakuani, Williams, Whelpdale, Diagouraga, Frecklington, Boyd, Mclean, Mackail-Smith.

Although, we may be wrong!

As for Doncaster they arrive at London Road not much higher in the table than us and on the back of a shock home defeat to South Yorkshire rivals Barnsley.

So what do we think the result will be? Our luck has to change sometime or other and why not this Tuesday. We can`t go on as we have been whereby we`ve left fixture after fixture feeling as if we`ve been robbed, so how about a fine 3-1 win?

I`d take it wouldn`t you?
