A crowd of over 1,200 fans watched Peterborough United Youths take on Fulham Youths in the 4th round of the FA Youth Cup.

The scoreline flattered Fulham greatly although no one could argue that Fulham were the better side.

The first half was played out with very few chances. Jacob Joyce was played through on goal after some good play by Posh but with defenders quickly catching up with him, he tried to shoot from outside the area which was easily collected by the Fulham keeper.

Fulham did create a few chances themselves but the final shot never caused Alex Archer any problems in the Posh goal. The best they had was when Charles Banya went passed four Posh players before right back Michael Richens threw himself in front of the attempted shot with the ball ricocheting out for a corner.

The second half was less than a minute old when Fulham opened the scoring. Some good build up play found the ball played out wide to the left before the cross found Omri ALTMAN who found the back of the net.

It took ten minutes for Fulham to double their advantage when Cauley WOODROW scored.

Fulham had definitely upped the tempo in the second half and were starting to show their superiority. Posh did keep plugging away and should`ve had a penalty when a Fulham player handled the ball not once, but twice! It was a blatant handball, especially the second one, but somehow the linesman and referee waved away appeals from the Posh players and fans!

Posh were rewarded for their efforts when Fulham were penalised for a back-pass inside the six-yard box with just five minutes remaining.

The indirect freekick was played to Jacob JOYCE who side-footed the ball towards goal and somehow made it into the back of the net despite the whole of the Fulham side on the goal line!

Posh were now pushing more men forward in an effort to get an equaliser, but things back-fired when they were caught on a counter attack. Tricky substitute Maumer TANKOVIC caused problems around the edge of the Posh area before curling the ball past Archer.

A poor clearance by Archer then gave Fulham their 4th goal as TANKOVIC scored with a sublime Messi style lob!

Tankovic was again in the thick of the action as Fulham rounded off the scoring as he found Solomon SAMBOU who fired past Archer to make the score a very flattering 5-1.

The Man of the Match award went to Aaron Wickham but in my opinion he was wasteful with the ball and often gave the ball away. The player that stood out the most for me was Kgosi Nthle who played the majority of the game at centre back before moving to right wing-back.
