Charlie Horton is an 18 year old goalkeeper from The United States. He’s a United States Soccer Development Academy graduate, and stands at 6ft 6 inches tall. This academy has produced the likes of Everton’s former Manchester United, and America International goalkeeper, Tim Howard, Seattle Sounders’ striker, Eddie Johnson and former Rangers winger DaMarcus Beasley, and Horton was rated highly by everyone involved at the academy. It’s safe to say he’s caught the eye of English scouts, with Manchester United, Chelsea, Spurs, and most recently, Bolton Wanderers, all registering an interest in the young goalkeeper.
But Peterborough United have confirmed the Amercian is training with the club, and Darragh MacAnthony took to twitter to confirm the rumours. When asked if Posh had signed a goalkeeper from the USA, DMAC said:
‘Yep, just waiting for clearance on it all but he has agreed terms etc. Promising one as well!!’
But does that mean Bobby Olejnik or Joe Day could be on their way out of the club? Who knows.. All the news regarding the expected signing can be found on Vital Posh as soon as it happens!
