Peterborough United have agreed a new contract with their goalkeeping coach for the 2013-14 season.

Jimmy Walker

Jimmy Walker only joined Posh in March after taking over from Barry Richardson who left the club in January by mutual consent.

Walker has now agreed terms that will see him remain at the London Road club for the duration of the forthcoming League One campaign.

Posh boss Darren Ferguson was delighted to retain the services of Walker after Posh kept five clean sheets in the final 11 Championship matches as he said: “Jimmy came in at the back end of last season and did very well working with the goalkeepers.

“He has vast experience in the game as a player and is a very good coach and the goalkeepers at London Road love working with him. He has great enthusiasm and has fitted in very well.

“It is not just the players I have to think of, it is my coaching staff and we have a very tight knit group. I am delighted to have Jimmy on board with us,” Ferguson continued.

Chairman Darragh MacAnthony was also pleased with the deal as he tweeted: “Delighted Jimmy Walker now on board full-time as goalkeeping coach. No coincidence we had a lot of clean sheets when he started working with us last season!”
