Do Peterborough United have a manager in waiting when Darren Ferguson eventually decides to move on?
Midfielder Grant McCann has come in for some exceptional praise from chairman Darragh MacAnthony who believes McCann is a potential future manager of Posh!
“I see Grant playing for a couple of years yet, but he has what it takes to be a top manager for us one day.
“I`m all for continuity at clubs and Grant will buy into what we want to achieve.” said MacAnthony.
Signs are that MacAnthony has learnt from the painful first season Posh had in the Championship under his ownership as he looks for options at promoting from within the club and McCann could eventually fill the Posh managers boots one day.
McCann was very upbeat about re-signing for the club that this time last year had placed him on the transfer list!
“Good discussions today [23rd May] with Barry and Bob regarding my future at Peterborough. Very flattered by the Chairmans comments about me.” McCann tweeted.
The Northern Ireland International is expected to sign a new contract on his return from holiday.
