Peterborough United received good news and bad news on the injury front today as Lee Tomlin`s injury isn`t as bad as first thought but Lee Frecklington faces the surgeons knife!

Tomlin slipped when stretching for the ball on Saturday when playing against Coventry and at first, it was thought he could`ve picked up the same injury that Posh captain Grant McCann sustained only the week before. That injury has ruled McCann out for up to 10 weeks but luckily for Posh and Tomlin, he has only a slight strain which is expected to rule him out for a couple of weeks.

Commenting on Tomlin`s injury, Posh boss Darren Ferguson said to www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk: “Lee Tomlin`s injury doesn`t look as bad as we first thought, but he`ll miss a few games.”

The games Tomlin could miss over the Christmas and New Year period are the Boxing Day at Nottingham Forest, the New Year`s Eve at Middlesbrough and the home match against Birmingham on 2nd January.

Frecklington on the other hand had bad news as the groin injury he has been suffering with over the past few weeks has finally caught up with him.

Ferguson continued: “Lee Frecklington has had a problem in his groin area for a while now so it might be we have to bite the bullet and book him in for an operation.”

Vital Posh wish both Lee`s a speedy recovery.
