Lincoln City have signed Peterborough United Player of the Season Michael Bostwick!
It was a controversial decision at the end of last season when Posh announced that they were going to test the water by placing Michael Bostwick on the transfer list.
His availability generated a lot of interest including that of former Premier League side Blackburn Rovers who now find themselves in League One.
Rovers had a bid turned down with one of the contributing factors being that of Bostwick wanting to stay close to Peterborough as he doesn`t want to uproot his family.
That was also the main reason Posh have decided to accept a LOWER offer from Lincoln City for their current Player of the Season!
When it was announced that he had signed just a two-year deal at Sincil Bank, it was obvious that the amount accepted by Posh wouldn`t have been as much as many Posh fans had hoped.
Although he was never the best defender or midfielder at Posh, he did give 100% commitment which is what Posh fans liked about him.
Bossie will be an excellent signing for the current National League Champions and should be a fans favourite. Imps fans will be able to get their first look at Bossie on Saturday when the Imps, coincidentally, face Posh!
While many Imps fans will be over the moon at signing Posh winger Harry Anderson, they may not fully know what they`re getting in Bostwick but Imps boss Danny Cowley certainly does as he said: “Very infrequently I am surprised by football. But I have to admit that to acquire the signature of Michael Bostwick was beyond my wildest expections for our football club.
“To be able to bring in a top League One player who won various individual awards at Peterborough last year represents outstanding business on our part. He has been part of successful teams before and his experience will be invaluable to our young group.
“He is fiercely competitive, incredibly determined and has real fighting qualities. Consequently he is completely aligned with the group of players who we already have at the club.”
