Peterborough United are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Marcus Maddison in the three two victory over Fleetwood Town at the weekend at Highbury Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Maddison was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Maddison may not have got on the scoresheet in the Peterborough`s 3-2 success at Fleetwood Town, but he had an involvement in all three Posh goals. He teed up Michael Doughty and Jack Marriott respectively, before hitting a free-kick which was spilled by Cod Army ‘keeper Alex Cairns, leaving Danny Lloyd to win the game with minutes remaining.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Maddison for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Marek Stech (Luton Town), Jack Robinson (Queens Park Rangers), Pontus Jansson (Leeds United), Richard Keogh (Derby County), Marcus Maddison (Peterborough United), Mark Byrne (Gillingham), Ruben Neves (Wolverhampton Wanderers), David Worrall (Port Vale), Nick Powell (Wigan Athletic), Chris Long (Northampton Town), Chris Dagnall (Crewe Alexandra).

Manager – Stuart McCall (Bradford City).
