Peterborough United looking to make it 4 without a loss at Millwall tonight.

Millwall v PoshMillwall -Vs- Peterborough United
Venue: The New Den
Date: 19th February, 2013
Kick-off: 7:45pm

Posh have collected 5 points in their last 3 games, and will be looking to gain another 3 this evening (Tuesday), when they visit Millwall.

The Posh looked like they may have another shaky run in the league after losing 2-1 at Nottingham Forest in mid-January, but they haven`t lost since. They followed that result up with a 1-1 draw at home to playoff chasers Hull City, and a 2-2 draw with 10th placed Burnley. But the best result of the run was last Saturday`s 2-1 home win against 2nd placed Leicester City, who many are tipping for promotion to the Premier League. Ben Marshall put the Foxes in front, but the Championship high flyers were pegged back by a late goal from Davide Petrucci, and an 88th minute winner from Grant McCann.

Millwall have had an average season and currently sit in 13th place. Which isn`t bad considering they`re on a run of 6 without a win in the league. Their last win coming against Bristol City on new year`s day. However they have enjoyed a good run in the FA Cup, and have reached the Quarter Finals following a 3-0 win at Luton on Saturday.

TEAM NEWS

Millwall

Loan striker Benik Afobe could return to the Millwall line up, having been cup-tied for the FA Cup game at Luton. But he may have to settle with a place on the bench after fellow loanee Rob Hulse (below) scored an impressive overhead kick in their 3-0 win at the weekend

Martyn Woolford is also set to return after being cup-tied, and Danny N`Guessan will be hoping for a start following his goal against Luton, but he will face stern competition from John Marquis and Andy Keogh.

Peterborough United

Posh boss Darren Ferguson is expected to pick a similar team to the one that beat Leicester last time out, but he has lost the services of Alex Pritchard who has returned to Spurs for treatment on his injury sustained in the clash with the Foxes. The young winger is expected to be out for about 6 weeks. Nathaniel Mendez-Laing could keep his starting place as a result. Danny Swanson is likely to take a place on the bench following his goal in a behind closed doors friendly against Notts County. Davide Petrucci (below) will keep his place after a brilliant performance, and goal, against Leicester.

Posh may welcome back young full back Kgosi Ntlhe, who was stretchered off at Sheffield Wednesday earlier this season, but if he does return, he is likely to only be on the bench, as captain marvel Tommy Rowe continues at left back. Craig Alcock could also return to the squad after recovering from an injury. Young striker Jaanai Gordon has been out through injury for a couple of weeks, but is expected to return to the squad to bolster Posh`s attacking options on the subs bench.

Vital Posh predicts the starting line-up will be:

Olejnik

Little, Bostwick, Zakuani, Rowe

Mendez-Laing, McCann, Petrucci, Boyd

Tomlin, Gayle

HOTSHOTS

Millwall

6 – Keogh
6 – Trotter
3 – Henry

Posh

8 – Lee Tomlin
7 – Dwight Gayle
6 – George Boyd

REFEREE

DARREN BOND takes charge this npower championship match up.

He will be assisted by Andrew Laver and Adrian Gillett.

The fourth official is Ian Cooper.

PREDICTION

Posh will want to extend their unbeaten run, and manager Ferguson has said his players will fight for every ball tonight, and for the rest of the season, which certainly sounds promising! Millwall can be a tough place to go, but if Posh play how they did in the latter stages of the Leicester game, there`s no reason why they couldn`t bring 3 points home with them.

Posh to win: 3 – 1.
