Minstermen after Danny Kearns

Peterborough United midfielder Danny Kearns looks set to join League Two York City on loan.

Kearns looked lively during pre-season until he suffered a nasty injury against Aston Villa which curtailed his season.

He has now recovered from injury and is raring to go but has agreed with boss Darren Ferguson to go out on loan to pick up some crucial match time.

Kearns made 20 appearances for Posh last term after joining from Irish side Dundalk. He showed glimpses of his potential during these appearances but really stepped up to the plate in pre-season.

Other clubs are thought to be after Kearns’ services but York have moved in quickly to agree a loan deal.

The loan will be initially for one month and should be beneficial to both clubs as he can build up his match fitness at York and should be a success.
