Peterborough United are set to open their newly re-built Moyes End stand tomorrow in their match against Swindon Town.

New Moyes End Stand at night

It`s been a long while in coming but the new Moyes End Stand is ready for matchday!

The match against Swindon Town tomorrow [Saturday, 22nd November] will see Posh supporters given the first chance to use the new stand with any visiting supporters remaining in the old North Stand corner.

Season ticket holders can also swap their regular match day seat for one in the new stand for the Swindon match but they must do it by 5pm today.

The Moyes End Stand has also got a new name for the opening. Local car supermarket Motorpoint have agreed a sponsorship deal with the club which will see the new Moyes End stand behind the goal become the “Motorpoint Stand”.

Bob Symns, Posh Chief Executive, said: “The football club are thrilled that Motorpoint have come forward to name our new stand. It is a great opportunity for Motorpoint and for the Football Club itself, the synergy is superb.”

“Motorpoint will help our supporters and sponsors in their specialist field and they have contributed magnificently to the look of the new stand. They are going to put up a scoreboard in the not too distant future. This has all been agreed and the stand is being suitably dressed inside and outside thank to the support of Motorpoint,” continued Symns.

“We look forward to a long partnership with Motorpoint and and are delighted to be working with them.”

Chris Goodison, General Manager of Motorpoint Peterborough, said: “Peterborough United are the biggest sports team in the area and one that a lot of our staff and our customers support so it was a perfect fit for Motorpoint to enter a partnership with the football club and hopefully it will be sustainable for many years to come. The facilities are fantastic and the signage is superb and we are delighted to be working with the football club.”

Peterborough City Council Leader Marco Cereste said: “We have all watched in anticipation as the new Moy’s End stand has risen from the ground this year and so it’s fantastic that fans can start using it from this weekend’s home fixture with Swindon.

“The new community stadium is really starting to take shape now and it won’t be many more weeks before the education and skills centre is completed.

“I’d also like to thank Kier, who have constructed the new Moy’s End, for pulling out all the stops to complete the stand on schedule.

“I wish Posh the best of luck for the match on Saturday and hope they can celebrate the completion of their new stand with a win.”
