Following the expiry of his Peterborough United contract, Bobby Olejnik has decided to join league two outfit Exeter City. The 28 year old goalkeeper kept a record 20 clean sheets for Torquay United, and made the League Two Team of the Season, before making the move to the ABAX Stadium.

Olejnik

The Austrian born stopper was ever present in his first season at Posh and was one of the main reasons Posh took it their fight against Championship relegation right down to the final day of the season. He went on to play 57 times in the 2013/2014 season in which we won the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy, and narrowly missed out on another Wembley visit following the Playoff defeat at the hands of, now relegated, Leyton Orient.

There were talks of a new contract between the representatives of Olejnik, and the Posh, but it quickly became clear that Olejnik’s demands were not going to be met, and he was transfer listed. He spent the first three months of last season at Glanford Park, playing for Scunthorpe United. However when their regular number one, Sam Slocombe, returned, Olejnik was shipped off back to League Two, where he spent the remainder of the season at York City. He kept a clean sheet against his new side, Exeter, during his York loan spell.

He left the club a number of weeks ago and has found a new team, maybe at a lower level than expected. Nevertheless, we’d like to thank Bobby for his contribution during his first two seasons and the club, and wish him all the best in the future of his career.
