Vital Posh focuses on an opposition player that could be a thorn in Posh`s side when they visit Notts County.

Danny Haynes - Notts County

Name: Daniel Lewis Haynes

Date of Birth: 19th January, 1988

Nationality: English

Former Clubs: Ipswich Town, Millwall (loan), Bristol City, Barnsley, Charlton Athletic.

League Appearances: 238

International Appearances: 5 (England U19)

Stat of the Day: Haynes has averaged a goal in every three starts throughout his career.

Player Profile: Haynes started out with Charlton Athletic but was released at the age of 16 when he joined the Ipswich Town academy. He won the FA Youth Cup in 2005 with Ipswich when beating Southampton in the final that had a certain Theo Walcott in their line-up.

He earned himself a “super-sub” tag in his early Tractor Boys career as he was often brought on late in a game to exploit tiring defenders with his speed. His performances eventually earned his a starting place in the Town line-up but after four years he was to be sold to Bristol City.

After a disappointing couple of years at Ashton Gate saw him net just 8 goals in 51 appearances, he decided it was time to move on again as he looked for a fresh start. That came at Barnsley but his time was short lived there as he moved “back home” as he signed for Charlton. Despite performing fairly well, he was released by the Championship club at the end of last season.

County snapped the forward up during the summer and scored his first goal for the Magpies on Tuesday night in their 3-2 Capital One Cup win over Fleetwood Town.
