Darren Ferguson has a wonderful way with words.

It`s something we discussed last week and on Saturday evening the gaffer came out with another pearl when discussing the valuable win against a Hartlepool side so loved by Soccer Saturday`s Jeff Stelling.

In fact without trying to be cruel, the quote, well the first bit actually, could refer to Hartlepool as well as the game itself, if you get my drift,

“It was a horrible game but a fantastic win for us. We rolled our sleeves up.”

Just what the doctor ordered at times like this. However, according to Darren, Scunthorpe will be a different kettle of fish altogether, commenting about the path that lies ahead,

‘We have 10 big games ahead and they are coming thick and fast.”

‘Scunthorpe are thereabouts themselves and we know it will be another difficult match. Our home form has not been great of late, but Scunthorpe will have to have a go at us and that may well be to our advantage.’

After watching teams park the bus wouldn`t that be nice!
