Yesterday we ran an article about the necessity to grind out results when the performance isn`t all that was hoped for.

It`s a point that has been picked up upon by Darren Ferguson who has reflected on the game against Hereford commenting,

‘It was certainly a scrappy victory but we are going to need our fair share of those if we are to get any success this season.”

‘We are not going to find it possible to play pretty football all the time and win every game by passing the opposition off the pitch.”

‘Granted it wasn’t our best performance by any stretch of the imagination, but the lads dug deep to get a great win in a very tough match.”

Obviously proud of his sides start to the season after only being promoted form League Two, back in May, he went on to express his thoughts about our great start to the season, remarking,

‘We have gone back up into the top six and are only four points behind the leaders – I don’t think anyone can complain about that after a third of the season.’

Well I`m certainly happy about affairs, if I were to be honest I`d have been perfectly happy with consolidating this season but I`m not complaining, onwards and upwards as they say!
