Posh – Gannon on Back-to-Back Wins!

Apologies for the lack of activity on the site yesterday, I was nursing the hangover of all hangovers!

But then again can you blame me? When was the last time, apart from during our back-to-back promotion winning years that Posh gave us two wins on the bounce? Even more so when you consider some of the appalling results we`ve endured in the Championship this season.

Following the win at Vicarage Road, Jim Gannon remarked about that fact and also offered more caution with regards to a possible great escape, commenting,

‘It’s great for the fans and players because it’s been a long time coming for them.’

‘For myself, it’s a good professional performance from the players and I’ll enjoy it as much as I did on Tuesday.”

‘Even before Tuesday’s win we only had 24 points, we’re on 27 before today and if we’re being realistic the norm would be 52 points to stay up.”

‘So with 11 or 12 games remaining we’ve got to double our points average. It’s an incredible mountain for that group of players to achieve, especially if the squad’s being depleted and you’ve got so many injuries.”

‘All I’m asking them to do is go from game to game and do themselves justice and in the last two games they’ve certainly done that.’

Next up Doncaster this Tuesday evening, can we keep our winning run going? Why not?
