Yesterday rumours were rife that Liam Hatch had suffered a major injury whilst on loan at Darlington in the FA Cup replay with Droylsden.

The rumours suggested that Hatch had suffered a suspected broken neck with the subsequent thirty minute delay being necessary to administer the precautions needed to remove him from the pitch.

Thankfully, news filtered through last night (Wednesday) that the injury was nowhere near as bad as first feared with a spokesperson commenting,

‘I spoke to his agent last night who told me that Liam thought he heard a crack, but luckily they couldn’t find any damage at the hospital and he is just a bit shaken up.’

Relief all round we`d say.
