If I were to be honest, I`d admit to being quite happy with our Carling Cup draw.
A home tie against Ipswich Town might prove to be an entertaining affair and a tie that is perfectly winnable.
However, that doesn`t match up with the views of Barry Fry who was hoping for something a little more adventurous, possibly a Premier League club and has since remarked, in the local media,
‘It was a rubbish draw. That always seems to be the case for us these days.”
‘We were one tie away from pulling out Tottenham and that is the sort of game we wanted for the chairman.”
‘It would have been fantastic to have got a team like Spurs or Manchester City down here, but I guess it could have been a lot worse as well.”
‘At least we are at home and will have a very good chance of making progress.”
Surely it`s better to wait for the third round and the entrance of the really big boys is it not Barry?
