With the incumbent of the managerial chair changing with alarming regularity at London Road, it must be something of a traumatic time for the backroom staff.
Many managers arrive with their own ideas and some inevitably bring their own assistants, however, it appears that Gary Johnson is keen to give those currently in place at London Road a chance to shine, commenting,
‘Everywhere I’ve been I always take the staff on board that are there.”
‘Obviously they get the opportunity the same as the players to make sure that they’re part of how the manager sees things, the manager’s philosophy. If they’ve got the same philosophy then it becomes very easy to work with new people.”
‘I think everybody at this football club seems very happy that they’re willing to stick around and see how the new manager gets on with them and that will be the same with the players.”
‘We’re all ok with that and we’ll just take our time over it and see how it goes.’
