Posh – The New Messiah?

And so a new dawn beckons at London Road, with our fourth manger of the season now firmly installed, we await to see how things pan out.

Is Gary Johnson the new messiah?

We certainly hope so!

After greeting the media, after his appointment, Gary spoke to the local radio station, Radio Cambridgeshire, and spoke about the challenge that lies ahead, remarking

“The first aim of myself and the club is to get back to the Championship.”

“The second aim is to consolidate and compete at that level.”

He then moved on to give a brief insight into how he was headhunted for the job, remarking,

“Once Jim Gannon decided he wasn`t going to stay Barry wouldn`t leave me alone.”

“Barry convinced me to go out to Orlando and meet the chairman and so I went and was really impressed with the ambition and drive of Barry Fry and the chairman.”

“When you talk to the chairman he always says ‘when we get promoted`, but I`m a little more realistic and say ‘if we get promoted`.”

With so many potential player moves in the offing this summer, it`d take a brave man to automatically assume that next season will be another promotion campaign, I feel a year of consolidation may be required first.
