I guess age finally caught up with him!

At the age of 38 David Farrell has finally called time on his playing career.

After drifting into non-league football, playing for Stamford, a combination of injuries and a lack of excitement for the game have forced him to call a day on his career.

However, after a long career, the ex-Posh forward can, at long last, look to enjoy a family Christmas and is quoted as saying,

‘I have always said to my wife that if I ever thought about retiring, I would just do it.”

‘It has been on my mind for a few weeks and I have now decided the time is right to hang up my boots. I have had a few injuries this season and to be honest, I’ve just had enough of the game.”

‘It will be nice not having a game on Boxing Day especially as it my youngest son’s birthday as well. I will get to be around at Christmas for a change.’

Here at Vital Posh, we`d like to formally thank David for the nine years service he gave to our club, it`s greatly appreciated.

Now go on and joy your retirement and we wish you well in whatever you decide to do next.
