The latest player linked with a summer move to Posh is…

Loick Pires

Loick Pires is a 22-year-old striker currently playing for Conference South side Welling.

He is out of contract in the summer and is described as a ‘rising star of the Non-League’.

Welling are in the semi-final’s of the Conference South where they played Sutton in the first leg last night [Wednesday 2nd May].

Pires was instrumental in helping Welling gain a 2-1 lead in the Conference South semi-final first leg when making a run from his own half to set up Lee Clarke’s winner against Sutton after leaving four players in his wake.

Named Wellings Player of the Year, he also won the club’s Goal of the Season award for the last two seasons.

Blackpool are also interested in the striker and they will be hoping to make it third time lucky having missed out on Emile Sinclair and Tyrone Barnett who both preferred Posh over Blackpool.

Should Pires move on, Welling will be entitled to a compensation fee due to his age.
