Peterborough United’s right back Mark Little is set to undergo a scan on a groin injury.

Little, who was replaced early in the second half of Saturdays 1-1 draw with Birmingham City, has had an excellent season so far and is arguably one of the most improved players this season.

Craig Alcock switched from left back to right back replacing Little on Saturday while Leicester City loanee Tom Kennedy came on at left back. This seemed to strengthen up the defence slightly which could give Peterborough United boss Darren Ferguson a selection headache when Little returns to full fitness.

Ferguson confirmed to www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk “Mark`s fitness was a bit of a concern before the game but he felt he was up to playing.

“He has been struggling with his groin and he needs to have a scan to find out what the problem is.

“Mark has been outstanding all season and the first half on Saturday is the only bad 45 minutes I can remember him having.

“Hopefully he doesn`t have a hernia but even if that does prove to be the case, he could play through it.”
