January saw Posh lose two games in their comprehensive League One fixture, losses were suffered on the road at Leeds and Leicester.

We currently lie several points adrift of the MK Dons but th esquad remains in good spirits.

Speaking ahead of our vital clash with Carlisle, a clash we hope the weather spares, Russell Martin has commented on what has passed and what lies ahead, remarking,

‘We have just had one of the toughest months on paper possible and came through okay, although it was obviously disappointing to lose the games against Leeds and Huddersfield.”

‘If we could pick up maximum points through February it would be excellent. We are all determined to try and make that happen and get ourselves closer to MK Dons.”

‘They have had good results in the past week, but the gap is not exactly massive and we are confident we can pick up plenty of points as well.”

‘Having said that, no-one is naive enough to think there are any easy games at this level and we are well aware that some teams could be in false positions in the league.”
‘But this team goes out to win every game and hopefully we can put some results together.’

Continuing, Martin has spoken about how those who were at the club last season during the promotion push, can use their experience to co-ordinate a similar push this season remarking,

‘The boys who were here last season have said the secret to the club’s success then was taking things one game at a time.”

‘That’s exactly what we are doing again this season and hopefully we can have some more good times.”

‘The manager has been very loyal to the boys who got the club promoted last season and that is definitely the aim again.”

Sounds good to us Russell, let`s hope we can put a decent theory into practise.
