It`s always great when a player steps forward and says all the right things.

We may be in third place and only a point off of MK Dons, in second place, but the run-in between now and the end of the season is when the real hard work takes place, there`s no time for errors and no time for complacency.

It`s something that Aaron McLean has talked about , following our 4-2 win over Crewe in midweek, in an interview with the local media.

This is what Aaron had to say,

“All we have done so far is get ourselves into a good position, but it is what happens from now that really matters.”

‘A few defeats could undo the good work, but I am sure that is not going to happen with the character and ability we have in our dressing room.”

‘It would be absolutely criminal if we didn’t manage to finish in the play-off places and that has to be the minimum requirement now.”

‘But no-one at the club is thinking about that. We are all looking at automatic promotion and everyone is determined to make it happen.”

‘Every player wants to test himself at the highest level he can and the Championship is definitely the place where we want to be.”

‘And put it this way – there isn’t one single person in the dressing room that doesn’t believe we can do it.’

Good to hear those words Aaron, you can`t beat a good bit of fighting talk!
