Two Peterborough United players have received a call-up for their country while three others are on stand-by lists.



Gaby Zakuani



It`s International week and that means central defender Gaby Zakuani is making another trip to Africa. He is in the DR Congo squad which face two matches over the next week. Both matches are against the Ivory Coast with the first match on Saturday [11th October] with the second one the following Wednesday. Manchester City`s Yaya Toure could be one of the opposition players along with Cheikh Tiote (Newcastle), Wilfried Bony (Swansea) and former Chelsea striker Salomon Kalou!



Kenny McEvoy



Loanee Kenny McEvoy has been called up for the Republic of Ireland Under-21 match against Norway. The match is due to take place this Thursday [9th October].

Both players will miss this weekends match at Crawley Town.

Three players have also been placed on their countries stand-by list.

Full-back Michael Smith is on the stand-by list for Northern Ireland who face Greece on Saturday and then Faroe Islands on Tuesday.

Jermaine Anderson is on the England Under-19 stand-by list for the qualifiers in Luxemburg. England face three matches against Belarus, Belgium and Luxemburg.

Finally, youngster Ben Keating is on stand-by for the Wales Under-17 squad who face matches against Belarus, Montenegro and Russia.
