After declaring that Krystian Pearce would be the last summer signing, Posh made a further two signings albeit youngsters ear-marked for the future.

However, in an interview broadcast on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire, Barry Fry has added to the intrigue as to whether our summer spending is really completed by remarking,

“Darren Ferguson, the chairman and I met on Saturday and tried to make a late bid for a player.”

“It didn`t work out, but if it happens again and Darren wants to make another addition I`m sure Darragh MacAnthony will back him.”

Now we have no idea who the mystery player was but the general consensus of opinion, amongst the support, is that it would have been a forward.

Anyone got any ideas as to who it might have been?
