Peterborough took a trip down the A1 last night to take Stevenage Borough.

The clash, played out in front of approximately 1500 supporters, saw George Boyd return to a former stomping ground as Posh ran out 2-0 winners with a goal in each half.

The opening goal, scored by Shaun Batt came after Tom Williams appeared to push his luck right to the limit in a tussle right n front of the linesman without a free kick being awarded. The subsequent cross wasn`t cleared by the Stevenage defence and when it fell to Shaun he comfortably lobbed the advancing keeper to net.

The second goal was a picture in itself. Some good passing and probing, around the edge of the box, saw the ball played back to Charlie Lee who hammered home an unstoppable shot from twenty-five yards out.

Other positive points n a good night down in Stevenage were the thirty minute appearance of our latest signing, Romone McCrae who showed some glimpses of his quality and also Stevenage themselves who gave a spirited display that saw them push Posh all the way.
