The man in charge of the Sky Bet League One match between Peterborough United and Swindon Town is JAMES LININGTON.
As the season kicks off, Linington is entering his sixth season as a referee in the Football League.
Based in Newport, Isle of Wight, Linington missed the first half of last season and only took charge of sixteen matches; one of which was the goalless draw between Posh and Ipswich. Of the 16 matches, four were in the Championship, five in League One with the remaining seven matches in League Two.
He issued 37 yellow cards and just one red card which went to Yeovils on-loan Dan Burn in their match at Stevenage.
This match will be the sixth time Linington has refereed a Posh match. The goalless draw with Ipswich in March was the last Posh match he refereed. Two yellow cards were issued in that match with both of them going to Posh. Danny Swanson and Nathanial Mendez-Laing were the recipients of Liningtons yellow card.
Linington last refereed Swindon in their 3-0 win at Crawley in September 2011. A first half goal by Alan Connell was followed by a brace of goals in the final 10 minutes of the match by Mehdi Kerrouche. Four yellow cards were issued in the match with three of them going to Robins players. Linington has refereed Swindon six times in total.
The assistant referees for this match will be Alexandra Ihringova and Mark Jones. The fourth official is Wayne Porter.
