Another defeat for Posh but what a difference in terms of performance!!

Three players were “rested” for the game while the bench was mainly made up of the younger players in the Posh squad. Captain Zakuani, Craig Alcock and Lee Frecklington all made way for Nat Knight-Percival, whoe was making his Posh debut, Mark Little and Danny Swanson.

Another shock of the night was Lee Tomlin being named captain but he was captain fantastic in this match as he had an excellent night which he topped off by scoring Poshs second goal.

The transfer listed Paul Taylor opened the scoring for Posh after only 12 minutes but the lead didn`t last long. It took the Premiership outfit just four minutes to reply when Pogrebniak somehow stabbed the ball into the net despite being on the floor.

It was a mad few minutes from that point as Posh restored their lead just a minute later through Tomlin, who scored from an acute angle.

Gunter then equalized for Reading two minutes later to make the score 2-2 after only 19 minutes of the match played!

It took an unfortunate own goal from debutant Knight-Percival to finally give Reading a lead they managed to keep hold of.

The performance from Posh was in stark contrast to their previous defeats this season so hopefully they can kick on from this performance and pick up their first win on Saturday when they travel to face Birmingham City.
