Despite recent mistakes against Leeds United, Brighton and Hove Albion and Yeovil, Darren Ferguson looks set to stick with Joe Lewis for the trip to Tranmere.
And quite rightly so we believe!
Lewis may have made some errors but he`s got a great future as a keeper and the only way to get his confidence back is to stick with him.
Darren Ferguson, speaking to the local media, picked up on this point explaining,
‘I don’t like criticising my players in the press and I won’t start now. Every player makes mistakes in his career.”
‘It was a bad error and nobody is more aware of that than Joe. You can see the confidence has drained from him, but it’s my job to lift him and I will.”
‘I can’t keep letting Joe cost us goals, but I will stand by him now. This time last season everyone was raving about him and quite right too.”
‘I am paid to make tough decisions and I will stick with him. I believe I could recall Mark Tyler from Bury, but I will not be doing that.’
So come on Posh fans, like we said yesterday, let`s all get behind Joe and give him our support, he needs it right now.
